The Tolkein Trail – Follow the famous footsteps of J.R.R. Tolkein himself and see how the scenic landscape of Ribble Valley inspired him in the notable “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Hurst Green, Lancashire Kemple End – A small quarry with fantastic views of Ribble Valley at the top, this walk will get your heart racing with the route requiring you to go up and down. Kemple End, Longridge Fell, Lancashire Forest of Bowland – This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – safeguarded in the national interest – is an absolutely stunning area for a walk. Enjoy the peaceful countryside and spot some wildlife while you’re there.
