Copywriter

We’re looking for a creative thinker with excellent writing and research skills to help us elevate our written content as a full-time, in-house copywriter. As a member of the Marketing Team, the copywriter will create and edit copy for a variety of projects (including print, web, social and video), working closely with those responsible for website population, email marketing and social media. The copywriter will ensure imagery and copy match-up, and content is amended to suit the intended platform. Experience within a sales and lettings environment is desirable but not required. Based in our brand new Manchester City Centre office.

 

Essential Skills:

 

  • Exceptional grammar and punctuation

  • Priority management to complete assignments on a scale of importance

  • Proficient in persuasive writing

  • Ability to edit and proofread your own work and that of others

  • Condensing complicated ideas into short, comprehensible clauses

  • Proficient in  Microsoft Office, Google Drive applications or equivalent

  • SEO experience – know how to structure your copy on page to optimize for google, including utilising predefined keywords in your copy in an organic manner, and conducting research on relevant keywords (preferred but not essential)

  • Tailor the content and style of individual writing assignments according to their purpose – whether they are intended to sell or inform

  • Understand your target audiences and flex your tone depending on audience type and intended platform

  • Identify key messages – understand the main thing that you want the reader to feel and do, and how to communicate this powerfully

  • Include relevant and punchy CTAs on page and within your content

  • Work with creative teams to ensure that the visual elements of the webpage complement the copy

  • Conduct market research to generate hot topics for discussion

  • Identify fresh and interesting angles for your articles

  • Write for web pages, blogs and potentially for social media, e-magazines, slogans, and video script

  • Work with the Marketing Director to review the impact of your work

Contracted to 37.5 hours/week, your core hours will be 9 am to 5.30 pm, with the opportunity for flexible working, after an initial induction period, at your line manager’s discretion.

Christmas closure period

Salary up to £24,000 depending on experience
